Program Name: Family Support Group

Service Description:

Family Support Group A peer-led support group that is facilitated by families with lived experience who are trained in family support. Meetings are held via Microsoft Teams on the second and fourth Monday evenings of each month and are two hours in length. They offer time for sharing experiences and education by expert speakers. We welcome family and friends anywhere in Nova Scotia who are supporting someone with mental illness or mental illness and addiction to join this group.

Education topics may include - information on mental illnesses and addiction, accessing services, confidentiality, communication and coping skills, crisis and relapse prevention, recovery, self-care, and community supports.
